Cessna 172C-GXTL is a 1975 Cessna 172 Model M. It is equipped with the 150 HP O-320-E2D Lycoming engine and a model 1C160 / DTM McCauley propeller. XTL has 2302 hours on the airframe, with a major overhaul completed on the engine at 1912 hours in April 2000.

I purchased the airplane in August 2002 near Edmonton, and have thoroughly enjoyed the 300 plus hours I have flown since. The majority of my flying has been across Manitoba, with a few flights into Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Cessna 172XTL's early life was in the USA. I have not been able to locate any US Log Books, with the Canadian logs beginning in August 1977, when the airplane was imported into Canada at Taber, Alberta. After some further research through the US Department of Transportation (via contacts made at Oshkosh), I was finally able to obtain records of US ownership last year. XTL was originally purchased from the Cessna Corporation and remained in Kentucky until the journey north to Taber in 1977. Ownership then remained in Alberta until its arrival at Lyncrest in August 2002.

I look forward to many more years of flying XTL, and plan to make several extended trips across Western Canada and into the US----Oshkosh here we come!!!
