The Lyncrest Flight Centre is located at the Lyncrest Airport, 57119 Murdock Rd. This recreational aviation-focused non-profit community centre provides educational, training and social programs throughout the year. These programs are uniquely focused on aviation-related activities, complementing recreational opportunities available in Dugald, Anola, Oakbank and Winnipeg (eg snowmobiling, curling, sports, Tinker Town, Grand Prix, Buhler Park, etc). Lyncrest Airport scheduled and unscheduled events attract over 4,500 Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Girl Guides, Scouts, Air Cadets, Police Cadets, First Nations, Air Canada Dreams Take Flight families, school classes, as well as individual youth, women, men, families and retirees from the RM of Springfield, Winnipeg and the surrounding areas, and aviation-based organizations open to the public, including: Springfield Flying Club, Canadian Owners and Pilots Association, Recreational Aircraft Association, Manitoba Chapter of the 99'ers (Women pilots), everyone is welcome. Check our web site Calendar of Events page for details on our upcoming air rallies, fly ins, workshops, tours and other aviation-focused recreation educational, training, and social events this spring and summer. Everyone is welcome to explore these recreational aviation opportunities; youth at risk or youth who would otherwise not have these opportunities, women, families, men, and seniors! With many youth these opportunities make a difference, aviation is the magnet that draws these youth 'off the street' and fills their after-school activities with dreams coming true at the Lyncrest Airport. As a result of this experience, these individuals can go on to begin careers in the field of aviation, and the related fields of chemistry, math, physics, meteorology, business management, engineering, pilots, geography, and communication. Similar results are achieved with new retirees who are drawn to the airport atmosphere, and inevitably get involved and inspired to explore the intellectually rewarding hobby o f recreational aviation and aircraft building.
